Our Facilities

Lowy's state-of-the-art conservation studio is housed on the top floor of our 6 story brownstone on E. 80th Street. Encompassing the majority of the top floor of the brownstone, our conservators work in an environment that provides an abundance of unobstructed natural light, facilitating ideal cleaning and inpainting conditions. We have two large hot vacuum tables for structural work, a cleaning table with proper ventilation, a varnish booth and a water filtration system for works on paper, along with other current and constantly changing tools required for art conservation. We welcome the opportunity to serve you, and offer a tour of our facilities upon request.

I have worked with Lowy since my company, American Illustrators Gallery was founded in 1965, working with Hilly, Larry and now Brad. Lowy has always given impeccable care to both framing and conserving our paintings and illustrations, always bringing those works that needed it, back to near perfect condition. Lowy‘s conservation staff, headed by Bill Santel, are miracle workers, who continually meet the most demanding of challenges that I bring them. Equally important to American Illustrators Gallery was Lowy carefully selecting the perfect style frame to complement and protect the artwork.
