Larry Shar, President of Lowy, carries forth his family's tradition
as head of the oldest and largest fine arts service firm in the nation. Raised in the
business, he studied painting, conservation, frame restoration, framing and fitting under
the watchful eye of his father, Hillard Shar. After graduating with a degree in fine arts
from Brandeis University in 1969, he joined the company and in 1979 succeeded his father
as president.
Shar is a man of many talents, with a
comprehensive knowledge of the fine arts world that is unique in the field. He is also an
active, highly visible participant in the international fine art community and has been a
member of the Art and Antiques Dealer's League of America, and the Appraiser's Association
of America for over 30 years.
As Lowy approaches its 100th year of serving
the fine arts community, Larry is cognizant of the history and reputation represented by
the Lowy name, and remains committed to the excellence, integrity and uncompromising
quality for which the firm is known. |

Brad Shar, Vice President of Lowy, represents the third generation of
his family's involvement with the firm. Brad's interests have always focused on the arts
and technology. He began working at the company in 1992 while earning his bachelor's
degree in Art History at the New School. Brad graduated in 1996 and has continued to work
at Lowy ever since.
Brad has a diverse role at the company. Along
with handling client consultations, he works with his father Larry to manage all aspects
of the operation, including human resources, computer networking and the company's many
workshops. He has also spearheaded Lowy's state-of-the-art digital imaging system (Lowy
ScanTM) and is directly responsible for building Lowy's
website. Brad intends to preserve the traditional values and keen attention to detail for
which Lowy is known while instituting 21st century systems and technologies to help run
and grow the company. |

Lisa Wyer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, has been with Lowy
for 12 years and has worked with private collectors, galleries, and institutions during
this time making recommendations for the framing and conservation treatments of many fine
works of art.
Lisa graduated from Oberlin College in 1980
with a Bachelor's Degree in art and music, and received a Masters Degree in Fine Art from
Pratt Institute in 1984. Her experiences as an assistant printer in a Lithography Atelier
and as a sales consultant for archival materials have provided useful knowledge for her
career at Lowy. Her years of experience have provided her with a diverse knowledge of art
as well as framing styles and applications. |
